Proposals for the former Flughafen Berlin-Tegel, made with love by students from Pratt Institute, Kunsthochschule Weißensee, & Fachhochschule Eberswalde.
Tegel Airport was landmarked in 2019 and decommissioned in 2021. It is now the site of a 500-hectare state-led urban redevelopment project.
The iconic 1970s airport served as a lifeline for the formerly walled-in West Berlin and leaves a legacy of cutting-edge architecture and efficiency.
Our multidisciplinary cohort worked in teams to create adaptive reuse concepts for the former airport land and buildings.
